I’m turning into my grandmother
April 25, 2008 by Qalballah

If you had told me when I was 21 that I would have doilies not only in my *house* but in pride of place therein I would have told you in no uncertain terms what a complete lot of bullocks that was.

Doilies?? Pah! Something my Granny makes when watching Dr. Who.

My name is not Edna and I will never have those things *near* my house let alone *in* them.

I go thrifting a lot. And sometimes when you see something over and over you get won over.

And perhaps the connection to my grandmother is mixed up in this love somewhere too.
Knitted art with links to a good past.

I don’t thrift enough. You’ve really put your finds to good use. And pretty.
Those are the prettiest doilies I’ve seen! I’ve been started eyeing some doily patterns, but my husband has banned them from the house! Haha.
Thankyou! Aren’t they purdy. Oh my DH doesn’t have a say - he’d be happy if we lived in mud so I rarely take his opinion on board about household beauty
Aww
I’ve still got my Grandma’s doillies, hidden in a cupboard somewhere. They were being thrown out and I rescued them. They’re definitely not as bright as yours though. Now. What did she do with those antimacassas, I wonder..?
