Wow. Another one bites the dust. Is time speeding up for all of us?? Things that seemed only yesterday are already years ago… how strange time is…
We don’t celebrate new year - I know, I’m such a party pooper. I never have understood the need to be happy to know another year of your life has gone.
And I have never made a resolution either. I just know how weak I am so try not to set myself up for failure.
But it’s good to have goals though, right? Goals aren’t really resolutions - goals are flexible. So here are some of my goals for 2008:
1. I want to become more domestic(ated??) - I want to be my nana always bustling about making baking something. Good memories. I have a desire to be able to grow my own vegetables and make pickles out of them. My God what am I saying??
2. I need an apron for this. Nothing says ‘domestic’ more than an apron.
3. I’d like to make a log cabin quilt sometime this year too.
4. Good grief I must learn to crochet before I die. And knit too. This year… this year… insha’allah
5. I’d like to make more clothes for my children that don’t come apart at the seam thankyouverymuch
6. I want to spend more time outdoors
7. I need to lose *cough* stone. Yes. I. Must. This year I need to get my health into better shape and eat better.
8. I want to try different crafts and try to improve the ones I already do. Would love to learn 100 embroidery stitches without having to look in a book.
Oh I suppose the upshot of it is that this year I want to be the person I *want* to be rather than the person I am. I want to be better and make a happy household.
I wish you all the very best. Thankyou for reading this year. Hope to see you in the next. Take care of yourself and those you love and hopefully I’ll back in a few days.

This post made me smile as so many of those goals are the same as mine :0)
I can say ditto on a lot of that! I’ve got the doing thing down, now i wanna do better. Knitting is the thorn in my side. I can crochet - found it easy to do after throwing the hook across the room several hundred times over a week or two lol but knitting i can do until i’m stuck and i can’t go forward. Argh. I’ve said this is the year for me to do it. Once i’m done with a few gifts i’m working on and curtains that’s how i’ll be spending a good portion of winter nights. I look forward to reading your blog over the next year and seeing the progress.
yep, be what I want to be. well, probably better to ask to be *better* than we want to be, so’s not to limit it and all that!!! amin to that.
[...] the start of this year I made some New Year goals. Amazingly half the goals have been met. Maybe I aimed too low?? [...]
